My Land, My Love

I am here…
holding your heart with each thought
breathing your presence as written words take form
sighing of each inward breath
until of my labor at last I birth
song enough to say my secret
verse enough to voice this truth
poem enough to remember these moments
that should I be drawn away
I should find my way again
find again my love and know her

  1. Very nice poem. Very nice indeed. There is passion in it, and there is grip. It would be even better, if the last verse was ended with a equally intense attitude that is characteristic to the rest of the body. It’s just a suggestion.

    1. Hi Julio, thanks again very much for your feedback. This poem is meant to flow like a rising wave, the middle like the breaking crest, and the last like the lull before the next. The last verse is meant to pull the mind back into the rhythm of the everyday. Being a vessel of passion is careful work. It can take one apart, sever you from your grounding unless you know how to draw the strength of it back into the mundane. Otherwise it isn’t sustainable. This poem shows the whole wave, expresses the longing of not wanting to forget the passion after the crest has passed.
